Packing the House for Heritage Action for America
“If you build it, they will come.” Anyone who’s ever engaged in a turnout campaign knows how ridiculous that sounds.
Getting people to places is tough work and takes thoughtful strategy. That’s why when Stoneridge was approached by Heritage Action for America about helping their staff rally thousands of conservative activists to the group’s 2016 presidential primary forum, our team jumped at the opportunity to show off our turnout chops. And with nearly every Republican presidential campaign invited to speak at the forum, the stakes couldn’t be higher.
The project parameters were simple enough: devise a plan to fill Bon Secours Wellness Arena on September 16th with Heritage Action Sentinels – their national grassroots network – as well as thousands of conservative voters from across South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia. In addition, outfit the arena with the event’s branding – Take Back America – on hundreds of signs, banners and attendee swag.
To achieve Heritage Action’s goals, SRG used a combination of digital and mail marketing targeting likely attendees using the Take Back America brand and candidate imagery.
Not only did we hit their initial RSVP goal, we did it nearly 2 months before the event. A combination of eye-catching designs, solid messaging and savvy targeting made turnout pop. Ultimately, nearly 10,000 individuals attended the 4 hour forum! In addition, we were able to help deck out the arena and take the conservative experience to the next level.
